GIVE BACK & GET INVOLVED
Dress for Success Pittsburgh is a volunteer-driven organization. Our volunteers work directly with our clients as client managers as well as participate in committees, planning events and supporting our operations. We are actively seeking adults of all ages and backgrounds who are interested in helping women achieve personal goals and self-sufficiency. If you’d like to register as a volunteer and please email Christie Perez at volunteer@dressforsuccesspittsburgh.org or call our office at 412-201-4204. We are sincerely grateful to our wonderful volunteers. We encourage you to continue to make a difference in the lives of women.

  • Client Consultant: Client Consultants work one-on-one with women who come to Dress for Success in need of professional clothing. Our client managers range from women professionals who work in downtown Pittsburgh to women entrepreneurs to retirees. Volunteers typically commit a few hours a month, during work hours to assist our clients.
  • Operations: If you are recently retired or can volunteer with us between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm, we would love to have your help. We need friendly, organized people who can help us answer our phones, update our database and website, and do basic word processing projects.
  • Donation Pick-Up: We need men and women with SUV’s, minivans or trucks who are able and willing to donate their time and resources helping us pick up larger donations of items that we provide to our clients. Donation pick-up times can be arranged to fit your schedule and the donors, and items would need to be delivered to our offices during regular business hours. Your accrued mileage and other direct expenses are tax deductible on itemized returns.
  • Clothing Inventory: Once the donations are delivered, we need help evaluating, sorting, and prepping the donations. Items we are not able to use are saved to donate to a local shelter or other charity, or are retained for the semi-annual “Fill a Bag” sales that are held for clients. This is an especially great opportunity if you have a small group that wish to participate at the same time.
  • Special Events/Committees: Every organization needs to fundraise and Dress for Success Pittsburgh is no different. Accordingly, Dress for Success Pittsburgh sponsors a number of events to increase the community’s awareness of the organization and to raise funds. Producing such an event is no small task and requires the help of many individuals. As such, volunteers are needed to help plan and execute the events. If you like project work, networking and event planning, we would love to have you on board. Dress for Success Pittsburgh events will typically last approximately 2-4 hours.

If you are interested, please contact Christie at volunteer@dressforsuccesspittsburgh.org.
